3rd Degree Black Belt
Gabriela Bautista initially began her introduction to martial arts training in her hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico before moving to Atlanta. She returned to martial arts shortly after her son began taking classes at The Dojo, earned a black belt of her own and, after years of committed effort has become an integral part of The Dojo’s team of instructors. Ms. Bautista teaches in a variety of different functions ranging from weekly classes, After Schook Karate (ASK), out-bound programs in the community and running the summer camp program. Her vision of camp is to offer students an educational approach, providing insights into the Asian culture in an enjoyable, interactive environment. She has traveled abroad as Mr. Gaffney’s student to Japan, China, Mongolia and Thailand and studies Japanese in her college courses. An excelling instructor in the traditional Japanese arts and Okinawan weapons, she continues her studies in the Filipino Martial Arts and joint-locking art of Daito Ryu Aiki Jujitsu.
There is no doubt that Ms. Bautista is dedicated to producing the highest level of students and now contributes to the legacy that inspired her many years ago when she began.
